Dog Breeders arrested – Tax help

HMRC reports that several arrests have been made in relation to their taskforce’s work into Dog Breeders over the past four years. Durham kennel owner, Kevin Knox, pleaded guilty to the fraudulent evasion of tax and VAT in March 2018.

However it is not only the smugglers who HMRC are interested and the tax enquiry is far less scary and intrusive with the right adviser

Dog Breeders caught in the tax net

A couple of years ago HMRC Officers uncovered fraudsters selling puppies on a mass scale and for a huge profit, but because of the underground nature of the activity – many had failed to declare their sales.

HMRC has recovered almost £6 million in lost taxes from hundreds of cases since the formation of their dedicated taskforce.

Of those breeders and traders targeted, they include:
